About This Place

Delicias in Lagos is a charming cafe that seamlessly blends the warmth of a traditional Portuguese pastelaria with a vibrant selection of sweet and savory delights. Nestled on R. Dr. Joaquim Sacramento Pagarete, this local favorite invites guests to savor an impressive variety of pastries, breads, and snacks, making it a must-visit stop for both locals and travelers.

From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly baked goods and rich coffee fills the air, promising a delicious experience. Delicias is renowned for its tempting array of treats like the iconic Pastel de Nata—a custardy, flaky marvel—alongside indulgent Bola de Berlim doughnuts and an assortment of delicate Bolachas and Biscoitos. The Bolo da Casa and custom-made Bolos de Aniversário stand out as perfect examples of the skill and care behind every bake.

But Delicias is far more than just a sweet tooth’s paradise. The savory menu items, including the hearty Frango Assado, fresh Salada Com Sardinha, and satisfying Pão de Deus Mixto, offer a well-rounded culinary experience. The Tosta Mista Rissois de Carne adds a comforting, flaky treat for those seeking something to warm their appetite midday. Customers also appreciate authentic Portuguese beverages such as Super Bock, complementing their meals perfectly.

Patrons like Anna-Maria (radam4nt) rave about the generous portions and the diverse pastelaria and padaria offerings, highlighting how this spot caters to every imaginable taste. Brett Mcwilliams praises the attentive service and quality coffee, noting Delicias as a hidden gem worth returning to again and again. Maxine Jordan’s experience reflects the friendly and efficient staff who bring not only delectable cakes but also exceptional customer care, especially when ordering personalized birthday cakes.

Regular visitors such as Vee appreciate the diverse pastry selection—including Brazilian-inspired quindim and brigadeiros—making each visit a delightful exploration of flavors. The sandwich options and fresh yogurt bowls further showcase Delicias’ commitment to variety and quality, striking a fine balance between indulgence and wholesome choices.

While some suggest the space could benefit from a modern refresh, as Geoff Henshaw notes, the quick service and consistently good coffee keep customers coming back. Whether you’re seated enjoying a coffee break or grabbing a selection of snacks to go, Delicias offers a warm, authentic atmosphere infused with the heart of Portuguese pastry traditions.

In essence, Delicias isn’t just a cafe—it’s a celebration of local flavors and genuine hospitality. Every bite tells a story, from the crisp edges of a Pastel de Nata to the tender crumb of a house-made cake. If you find yourself in Lagos, make sure to visit this delightful spot where passion, taste, and tradition come together beautifully.

We had very good service along with quality coffee and a nice snack. Unfortunately we found this little gem on our last morning in Lagos. It would have been nice to come here daily

I come here a couple times a month because they have a more diverse selection of pastries than many other pastelarias. A good selection of different doughnuts, brigadeiros, cakes, etc. I'm particularly fond of their quindim. Coffees are decent, sandwiches are actually pretty good, and yogurt bowls hit the spot. They're a little light on cereal, and not filling but a nice mix of fresh fruits. There is one gentleman behind the cash who is really nice and friendly to all, but most of the servers are not. Don't expect smiles, greetings or patience with questions. Especially if you are not Portuguese. But they are perfunctory and do their jobs. The patio is nice and there is a lots of seating.

Got some tasty pastries and a coffee here for pretty cheap. The cafe is located outside of the old town, so the views aren’t as nice, but definitely worth to come out for the food

Every morning during my stay in Lagos I started my day from breakfast here. The coffee was good, the pastries were fresh, and the staff was friendly
